Each project targets a niche consumer and developed my ability to create aesthetic, functionally reliable products each with unique stories and goals in mind. Product design represents a never ending path of innovation through creativity. Pursuing it allows me to automate elegant solutions to life's many problems.

In this ~bonus section~ my goal is to display different iterations of the same cinematic product throughout its timeline and see how they've morphed and adapted to societal influences through the years.
I had lots of fun making these in the final semester of my college career.
Batman Beyond (1999)
In Neo-Gotham, the unique style of this beloved tv series incorporates elements of Japanese anime, particularly in its character design and dynamic action sequences. Sleek, angular visuals, and dark atmospheric cityscapes contribute to the overall cyberpunk aesthetic of the series.
The design of this batarang compliments these traits with it's stylistic cut outs, acrylic resins, and dramatic proportions.
Batman v Superman (2016)
The Batarangs in this film are inspired by the dark and cinematic style of the DC Extended Universe, featuring a more utilitarian and functional design.
To capture the modernity of this batarang, I worked to first bevel off the edges with a whetstone and create a mirror finish by sanding and hand buffing with a polishing compound.
The LEGO Batman Movie (2017)
Batarangs in this animated LEGO world are constructed from LEGO bricks and exhibit a playful, whimsical design that suits the movie's comedic and LEGO-centric style.
To capture LEGO's "build it yourself" style, I created this batarang out of 4 3D printed pieces that were covered in a 2 part epoxy for and press fit together.
This project features one of my favorite tools of all time- the plasma cutter. This tool uses 40amps at 60-100V and an air hose and to melt and dispel molten metal at remarkable speeds. This tool is miraculous not just because of its raw power but also the maneuverability which allowed me to cut out complex curves out of 3/8" stainless steel with ease.
As a kid born in the year 2000, The Phantom Menace was a very influential film in my upbringing. I always dreamed of melting through thick steel with a lightsaber so having the freedom to use a plasma cutter to make batarangs through my University will go down as one of my fondest college experiences.
Creating these replicas really amplified my love for metal working. Creating symmetrical refined edges was possible due to the laser cut templates I made and the new found patience I gained learning to grind away, sharpen, and polish steel.
